LAREDO, Texas – On January 12, 2021, the City of Laredo launched a call center for local medical professionals to refer patients to the COVID-19 Therapeutic Infusion Center, which was created through a partnership between the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) and the city. The center opened on January 11, 2021 with the sole purpose of treating patients with mild COVID-19 symptoms and reducing the hospitalization rate in our community.

Patients may receive a monoclonal antibody treatment, including Bamlanivimab and Regeneron, which has been proven to be effective.

The infusion center expects to receive patients from local primary care physicians and emergency departments that are at full capacity. Local medical professionals can refer patients with mild symptoms to this center for treatment. Contact information includes:

Approximately, the center can administer 15-20 treatments a day with a capability of expanding to 30-40. The infusion center is located at the Haynes Recreation Center and operates Monday thru Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It includes assistance from a medical director, one doctor, five nurses, and three administration clerks.

The City of Laredo would like to remind the community to not call or walk in to make an appointment at the infusion center. The contact information provided above is for medical professionals to refer their patients who qualify for the treatment.
